Shaping the Future Internet-Enabled World for Digital Content, 19 March 2010

BIS Conference Centre
1 Victoria Street
LONDON
SW1H 0ET

'Future internet' initiatives address the structural limitations of the internet today in terms of the scalability, mobility, flexibility, security, trust and robustness of networks and services.

Our programme provides an introduction to three of those initiatives:

  • The UK Future Internet Strategy Group will co-ordinate the UK's role in developing and applying the next generation of internet technologies, applications and services.
  • At a European level, the 300m euro Future Internet Public/Private Partnership will be officially launched in April.
  • The new 2011/12 ICT Work Programme for Framework Seven will add a further strand of relevant research opportunities within a schedule of calls for proposals expected to be worth some 2.4bn euro.

This event is for anybody interested in identifying and learning about funding opportunities for research into the technologies, services and content needed to build the future internet-enabled world. It will be particularly relevant to infrastructure, software and service providers in the digital content and telecommunications industries.
